5.0 Mile Walk Gentleshaw & Chorley Thursday 3rd September Main walk A Pleasant country walk across fields and tracks and quiet lane s linking a number of farm properties between Gentleshaw & Chorley. A couple of uphill stretches on roads leading back to Gentleshaw. On the day of my pre-walk I was glad not be wearing shorts, because of bracken brambles in a few places. 5 Stiles. Amblers 5 or 5 stiles Amblers might like to call first at Grasmere Garden Centre, Lichfield Road, Brownhills WS8 6Ll, for morning coffee. The Base Point and parking will be in the car park at “Ye Old Windmill” Windmill Lane Gentleshaw, Rugeley WS15 4NF, Telephone 0154 3682468, where we will return for 1.15pm. Walkers-Meet at the Windmill” for a 9.45am start From the traffic lights at Chase Terrace, on the A5190. take the Rugeley Road northwards towards Cannock Wood. After just over one mile, at the Redmore Inn, branch right onto Redmore Road signed Gentleshaw. On arriving at a tee junction facing a church, turn right and then first left to arrive at the Windmill Inn. Parking is on the right opposite the Inn. Lunch has been booked for 14 at The Windmill, but no pre order is required. I suggest that we order on arrival. Attached is a copy of the menu for your perusal but there will also be a Specials Board. Please let me Know whether you will be walking and or dining by Saturday 29th August.
